Ocean Grove was established in 1869 by the Methodist Church as a site for a campground retreat and summer resort. Although this tiny 1-square-mile town emerged from the resort, numerous families continue to come to Ocean Grove to enjoy their traditional summer retreat in the colony of tents, which surround the beautiful Great Auditorium. This remarkable building, with its wonderful acoustics and enormous pipe organ, plays host to musical and theatrical events, both religious and secular, all summer long. The beautiful beaches are perfect for swimming, collecting shells, or just getting a tan. You can walk for miles on the boardwalk, which is unspoiled by commercial clutter.

You can take part in a variety of local activities, including deep-sea fishing, Monmouth Park Raceway, golfing, miniature golf, bicycling, and antique-hunting. Six Flags Great Adventure and Atlantic City are not far away.
